Whether you’re unwinding in the beautiful freestanding bath or taking in the views from the front patio area with an al fresco drink, you’ll find your own way to relax here. The decor embraces the calming blue and white tones of the sea and there are lots of little nautical touches dotted around the property. Industrial-style lighting and a tough wooden table in the kitchen blend perfectly with the clean, shiny feel of the kitchen; have a sociable breakfast at the island or chat with the chef while they cook.

There are lots of beautiful inlets, caves and secluded beaches in the village which makes it perfect for sea kayaking; hire a kayak or a paddleboard from vendors on the beach to experience it yourself. The Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (2 miles) is a must-visit with the children, as is the Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle (2 miles) where you can explore Gnomeland, go panning for gold or plunge down the tube slide. Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe (4.5 miles) are great for rock pooling; keep the Victorian tidal bathing pool that’s located at the end of the tunnels a secret surprise from the kids.
