cottage was beautiful and it was literally a home from home in terms of the facilities and thoughtful touches provided by the owners to make our stay comfortable.","body":"This included a lovely welcome pack with essentials like milk and tea bags, plus a few luxuries in the form of Prosecco and scones plus jam and clotted cream....oh, and treats for the dog!\r\n\r\nThere were seven adults in our group, which did mean that one had to sleep in a bunk bed, but nevertheless we were very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and the cottage was fully equipped with all the appliances you would have at home.\r\n\r\nWoodbury is a very pretty village, with two main pubs a few minutes' walk away. The White Hart were very accommodating of our dog and the food there was really good. The central heating was excellent for the exceptionally cold weather, so the cottage was lovely and warm. The wood burner in the lovely lounge was a wonderful feature and it always started first time. The owner was very nice and welcoming, and made a point of visiting us to ensure that we were comfortable. Aylesbeare is a lovely peaceful village, with walks from the cottage. The Nightjar Inn next door is a real benefit, being very quiet and we didn't hear any noise. It has a great atmosphere and serves very good food and drinks. We had an excellent Sunday Lunch. One of the best holiday cottages we've stayed in and will definitely return . One minor criticism is that the master bedroom has a sloping ceiling which wasn't mentioned and it was very difficult to get in and out of bed without hitting your head on the ceiling although that minor discomfort would not put us off booking the cottage again. There were lots of extra little touches like the complimentary sparkling wine and cream tea.
