Guests say

The Little Cottage in Weymouth is highly praised for its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and excellent location. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, and biscuits upon arrival. While the comfort of the sofa and access to the bath have been noted as areas for improvement, the property remains a recommended choice for its overall charm and convenience.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as immaculately clean and tidy, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating a very high standard.

The location is frequently commended for its proximity to transport links and Weymouth centre. Some guests mention minor difficulties in finding the property initially, but overall, the location is considered excellent.

While the bed and newly added seating are praised for comfort, several guests find the sofa uncomfortable. The high bath side is also noted as a challenge for some, suggesting room for improvement in overall comfort.

The kitchen is very well equipped, and the property is tastefully decorated with all necessary amenities. However, some guests experienced difficulty with the shower and hob, indicating minor maintenance issues.

Guests are delighted by the thoughtful provision of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, and biscuits. However, as these gifts are not consistently mentioned by all reviewers, it cannot be guaranteed that such amenities are a standard provision for every stay.

About this property

Resting on the outskirts of the bustling town of Weymouth in Dorset is The Little Cottage. This well-presented, white-washed cottage boasts off-road parking for one car, an open-plan living space and close proximity to the town's local attractions, making this a wonderful setting for a family seascape in Dorset. After your adventures by the sea, settle on the plush sofa with the kids while your partner whips up a hearty meal in the fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy this as a family at the dining table while reminiscing on the memories you have created. Flick on the Smart TV and settle in for a fun family film night with some well-earned tasty snacks before travelling upstairs where a king-size and twin room await; both rooms are serviced by a bathroom. Be sure to get some rest before another action packed day at the coast. The Little Cottage lies a short drive from the centre of Weymouth with shops to ease your self-catered stay and pubs, including The Royal Standard and The Black Dog, which are great places for celebratory drinks or delicious pub food. The town’s centre houses attractions including SEA LIFE which offers family-friendly exhibits and an array of sea life, Weymouth Museum and Nothe Fort, a Victorian coastal fort with labyrinthine tunnels and an open museum. Take advantage of Greenhill beach, an idyllic place to spend a sunny day on the golden sandy shores with breath-taking vistas across Weymouth Bay; the famed Chesil Beach which stretches 18 miles lies nearby. Travel inland to the town of Dorchester where you can explore Thomas Hardy’s former home, now a National Trust property, or immerse yourself in local history at Dorset Museum or the Roman Town House. Delight in the wonders of Dorset’s 95 miles Jurassic coast which begins in Sidmouth and ends near Swanage, and provides a wealth of walking trails, fossils and geological phenomenon like arches, coves and stack rocks. The Little Cottage is perfectly located for exploring and unlocking the secrets of Dorset’s coast.

Weymouth is a great place to visit any time of the year because of the wide range of activities and attractions available. All sorts of watersports can be enjoyed on the beautiful golden sand beaches, and regular fishing trips leave from the harbour, which is both picturesque and lively. hort drive away is Portland Harbour and the rugged "Isle" of Portland, which is connected to Weymouth by the dramatic Chesil Beach. Take a trip to nearby Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens or to Dorchester, the inspiration for "Casterbridge" in Thomas Hardy's novels. Both are located along the scenic coastal road. You could also just go to West Bay; the scenery along the Dorset Heritage Coast is breath-taking.

Spotless inside. Just perfect. We were conveniently located to main routes and also into Weymouth centre and beach and harbour area. We are not bus kinda travellers but it was so easy to get into Weymouth by bus that we did it twice with no problems. Bus stop only a few yards away from the cottage. So very easy. Lots of busses every 10 to 15 mins . I would definitely return to the Little Cottage and also Weymouth. Fabulous. Thank you.

First impressions were that it was a clean, tidy and well appointed and maintained property. Those impressions remained with us for the whole week we were there. The property may benefit from a little more light over the kitchen table. It was also very handy to have the owner next door, not that we needed them, but they were very useful sources of local infirmation
